Zonga is a kind of earthen pot which is used by the Bodo people in preparing rice beer. It is conventionally bigger in size compared to normal earthen pots. The earthen pot is grey and little reddish in colour, with small designs around the neck. It is normally prepared by hand instead of using wheel. The fermented rice is stored in the Zonga for a period of 4-10 days for the beer to seep out. It is one of the oldest ways of preparing rice beer prevalent among the ethnic communities.
